Nathan Turner
With a jazz brain, soul feel, and folk heart, Vancouver based guitarist and singer-songwriter Nathan Turner fuses together alternative and lo-fi. The result is a folk tinged R&B with nuances of soft jazz and pop. He is an !earshot Top 50 National charting producer and artist with his duo Logan and Nathan. In his various projects Turner has played on stages across Canada, the USA, and the UK, with notable performances at Vancouver Island Music Fest, Canmore Folk Fest, All Folk'd Up, and Cold Snap. Stepping out on his own, his latest EP Nocturne For The Salty Moon adds down-tempo rhythm and Eno-esque ambience to evocative songwriting. His live sound combines uplifting harmonies, and guitar suspended dreamily over subtle instrumentation. He started his music career by earning a certificate in Audio Engineering and Production from Pacific Audio Visual Institute and became a house engineer at Monarch Studios. After years of recording and touring Turner went on to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Music from Vancouver Community College. Alongside performing and recording Turner currently designs programming and teaches with non-profits such as North Van Arts, Sarah McLachlan School of Music and Saint James School of Music.
